Welcome to Rhode Island…take my advice and don’t go over the border to Massachusetts…which is so strange these days it makes California look tame. The bay state continues to be regarded by the rest of America as a dysfunctional political nuthouse where cultural elites dabble in social engineering while vital economic indicators decline. I spend a lot of time commuting from brookline to campaign in the fourth district…which stretches from the west side of Fenway Park to Rhode Island. The gerrymandered district was created by the late “Tip” O’neill, but it’s dwarfed by his other mistakes: The Big Dig…the most wasteful, corrupt, screwed-up public works project in American history. Wear your hard hat if you’re driving in Boston…every trip through those tunnels is like playing Russian roulette with your life. Trying to outmaneuver Ronald Reagan, who had a mandate from the American people to clean up the mess that liberals made in the 60’s and 70’s. And the creation of Barney Frank, a bumbling career bureaucrat who became an extremely dangerous official by authoring legislation which opened the turnstiles of terrorism to our nation’s enemies. He even had the gall to call it “The Frank Amendment.” I have distributed to you a recent report by the cybercast news service which will infuriate you, and perhaps motivate you to help me remove Barney Frank from the political landscape. The headline is…“Democrat Altered Immigration Laws to Further Gay Agenda.” Why did he sponsor this bill? So that countless leftist writers, artists and activists could market their sordid expressions of anti-Americanism in this great country of ours. The Immigration and Naturalization Act was amended so that membership in a terrorist group was no longer sufficient reason to deny a visa. The Frank Amendment tied the hands of federal agencies for the better part of two decades, while terrorists posing as “students” formed their sleeper cells and plotted this nation’s demise. Even today, Iran threatens the U.S. by saying terrorists within our borders will be unleashed if we thwart that rogue nation’s nuclear ambitions. The FBI is quoted in NewsMax this week as saying that there are 10,000 terrorism cases under investigation. Don’t think for one minute that the war against terrorism on American soil is resolved. We are still very vulnerable to attack by murderous thugs operating right under our noses, courtesy of The Frank Amendment. Barney’s inept meddling is still dangerous to our national security, and so two years ago I led an effort to get him removed from the Congressional Homeland Security Committee. He subsequently resigned, and even his democrat colleagues were pleased to see him go. He had become an embarrassment. Now I am asking your support for the campaign to have Barney Frank reprimanded by congress, as he remains a clear and present danger to our national security. We are planning a major TV campaign to give Barney the publicity he deserves. It will astonish liberals who think of him as a kindly version of Mr. Magoo. Let’s make sure the enduring legacy as his time in congress draws to a close is that of a scourge of democracy, a colossal fraud who leftists mindlessly love and coodle at their own peril, and at great risk to our national defense.
